Hi, I am Jacob, an incoming Ph.D. student in the INSPIRE Lab. I received my B.S. in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Maryland, College Park, and am continuing my studies in the Bioengineering Ph.D. program at the University of Maryland. My research interests lie at the intersection of computational neuroscience, machine learning, and neuroimaging.
I am interested in applying computational methods to analyze latent neural representations and nonstationary brain dynamics from multimodal neuroimaging data, including (intracranial) EEG and fMRI. In the long term, I hope to better understand how distributed neural systems encode and regulate affective states by developing AI models that capture the computational principles underlying emotion processing.
